Best Video and Photo Blog Script?

I’m looking for the best photo and video blog script. I do not need something that is packed with features and too complicated, just something very easy for me and my family (who are not super power PC) to upload photos and videos of my daughter and also add some comments. I want something that will automatically reduce the image size so that the site loads slowly and is not something that allows me to easily integrate video clips local file. I know from Flickr and other sites hosting the image, but I prefer to have something I can control my own domain. I’m leaning towards wordpress because there are many plugins to use, but if anyone knows anything please let me know. Thanks
