I mean sure, don’t sell yourself short, but we all have internal talk. Ego…Personality…Thought! We seek recognition and status because we are constantly surrounded by a bunch of busi–ness in our everyday life.

Today I want to introduce you to an ancient practice called Alchemy. And no, this is NOT about turning Lead in Gold; that’s a misnomer and false precept passed down for 1,200 years so people who attempt to magically convert base metals into valuable and rare metals, like gold and silver, will fail miserably and not discover the true nature of Alchemy.

What is that “true nature” of Alchemy? It’s about our internal talk and the ego fully and completely. It’s not about magic or witches anymore.

Alchemy is generally understood to have been that art whose end was the transmutation of the so-called base metals into gold by means of an ill-defined something called the Philosopher’s Stone; but even from a purely physical standpoint, this is a somewhat superficial view. Alchemy was both a philosophy and an experimental science, and the transmutation of the metals was its end only in that this would give the final proof of the alchemistic hypotheses; in other words, Alchemy, considered from the physical standpoint, was the attempt to demonstrate experimentally on the material plane the validity of a certain philosophical view of the Cosmos.

It’s about the electricity of the ego. In other words, the ego drives people to seek recognition and “things” to fulfill their Self-talk. We seek external energy sources to hold us up. It helps us feel safe and less vulnerable.

If you are like me, I’m constantly buying into the consumerism of having “things” that I earn and/or want in my life. Sometimes those “things” are fulfilling and other times they were a total time waste of time. This idea is what lead me to Alchemy and it’s practices.

Alchemy is both a philosophy and a practice with an aim of achieving ultimate wisdom as well as immortality, involving the improvement of the alchemist as well as the making of several substances described as possessing unusual properties. The practical aspect of alchemy generated the basics of modern inorganic chemistry, namely concerning procedures, equipment and the identification and use of many current substances. The fundamental ideas of alchemy are said to have arisen in the ancient Persian Empire. Alchemy has been practiced in Mesopotamia (comprising much of today’s Iraq), Egypt, Persia (today’s Iran), India, China, Japan, Korea and in Classical Greece and Rome, in the Muslim civilizations, and then in Europe up to the 20th century, in a complex network of schools and philosophical systems spanning at least 2500 years. Alchemy, generally, derives from the Old French alkemie; from the Arabic al-kimia: “the art of transformation.” Some scholars believe the Arabs borrowed the word chimia from Greek for transmutation.

Alchemy is an occult practice of transforming our ego, our internal talk, and the energy we experience in our life.

The Golden Rules With Other Secrets To Success In Life

Most people who, when talking about success in getting whatever you seek in life through some form of goal setting and achieving technique that they normally would charge to teach you, would focus only upon the aspects or dimensions that deal with yourself and your actions.Yet one of the strongest and most effective ways to getting whatever you want in life is to help others get what they want, whether or not what you want and what they want happen to be similar.

I believe you have heard of the golden rule – Do to others what you would want others to do to you.

If you have been living your life from a selfish or self-centered philosophy so far, and you have found yourself extremely successful living that way, good for you.

But let me tell you that your success in life will be magnified and grow manifold if you now choose to perhaps focus a portion of your life, your actions, your thinking, your time and energy towards the benefit of fulfillment or others.

Take a moment to briefly and generally examine the situation of your life right now. Ask yourself these questions:-

What is missing in my life right now?

What do I feel is missing?

What else do I want or need to make my life more complete or fulfilled?

What are the goals that I still have to achieve in order to move forward in my life in the context with which I have defined it?

If I already know my self-defined life purpose, will I say that I have successfully moved forward in realising that purpose more fully?

If I have not yet known my life purpose or do not yet have a clear one, how can I find out and know what my self-defined life purpose is?

Once you have asked yourself these questions, proceed to take a look at your past:-

Had there been any incidents in which I had successfully achieved what I sought out to achieve because I had helped others achieve what they wanted to achieve?

If there were a few of such incidents, how did I help those others who had sought my help in attaining whatever they had wanted to attain?

If there were none, then, perhaps there had been incidents in which I had not succeeded in getting what I wanted because I had refused to help some people who really needed help from me in getting what they wanted, is this true?

If true, how can I make amends by helping those people who had needed my help or helping others who will need my help in the future, to the best of my abilities?

If false, was my success in a particular endeavour in the past due to some selfish manoeuvres or a little trickery on my part? If so, had there been any negative consequences of these unethical actions of mine?

Alright. That was perhaps too many questions for you. If you find yourself very engaged in this process and your answers or ideas that are flowing from your mind seem to be a bit too much to handle, you may want to write these questions down and the answers you have found in your journal or some piece of paper.

Remember what Socrates said, which was also what one of my Imams (I am Muslim, but this teaching in particular applies universally to every human being) had said, An unexamined life is not worth living.

How many days of your life have you lived in which you have missed examining your actions, thoughts and attitudes?

I remember lounging in a hammock during my first year in Network Marketing reading Mark Yarnell’s book, entitled Your First Year in Network Marketing: Overcome Your Fears, Experience Success, and Achieve Your Dreams! And to be totally honest, I was trying to talk myself out of being successful at every crossroads in my business. Why the heck did I do this to myself?

Mark’s book would sit there on my nightstand and I’d read a chapter one night, get all bummed-out the next night, and then I found Napoleon Hill’s book, entitled Think and Grow Rich: The Landmark Bestseller–Now Revised and Updated for the 21st Century.

Until one day I realized the stardust cover of Your First Year in Network Marketing was forcing me to ask myself questions that I was nervous to consider. And Think and Grow Rich was helping me through by teaching me about making daily positive affirmations about my life.

That was 8 years ago and, still, to this day; both of these books have made it with me in all of the moves across the state, attending Universities and parties, traveling across the country, and working dirty jobs of all types.
