Local Small Business Owners NEED Your HELP, How Do You Approach Them and Close Them Without “selling” Them?

If you lost everything and had to start over from scratch, what would you do? Well, I would learn a tiny bit about local search and helping local business owners…

This is a eye-tracking study revealing where people look when they peer at a Google search page.

No, this isn’t the bottom contours of the ocean floor or a mountain top…

The higher the peaks the longer they looked at that spot.

This is called a Heat Map (on the right side of photo below)

The color instensity shows us where people clicked on the webpage.

Left side of picture is normal view, Right side is heat map

The higher the click-through ratio (CTR) the more probability your webpage will be found.

The RED color intensity on the top of the Google Search page is obvious, which means if your businesses website is not one of the top 3 listed, you might find it difficult to drive a lot of people to your home page.

It is really a great idea…and even better that most areas are truly wide open for these services. I have a good freind who makes some pretty decent coin just making simple sites for SB's

I'm currently working with 3 companies. One is for short-sale real estate, one is for property management, and one does high-end furniture sales. I have been working with them for only a short time and am currently developing their sites and social media connections between those sites.

Press releases and the articles for their sites seem to take the most time.

Other than all that, it's fun educating and working with them. The biggest hurdle I am finding is that even before I get started these business owners would rather not do anything online, so I have to show them the factual numbers to prove to them that getting online and having some websites and social media is very POWERFUL…so yes, I have to try and sell them on the concept by way of numbers and facts of what and who is online in their niche.

I'll give you a better report back once I start getting them a few more clients/customers. Zack

    Hey Zack,
Great followup on your previous post.

My marketing concept is somewhat different. I am currently only contacting businesses that have websites up. Then I help them with their keywords, local niches (including local towns & counties), and how to improve their online presence. Response has been about 50 – 50. Many with websites don't want to do anything else with them. They feel they have been ripped off when they were talked into posting the sites and don't want to throw more money at them.

So, I agree, education is required.

    To Your Continued Success,
    Bill

I was aware of the high viewing areas in Google. The real key is how to get there and stay there. Getting the small local business to participate in this is challenge unless you can demonstrate results. Interesting market.
