Do Republicans want to get rid of social security?
If yes, why? They just think it's well-being for people who chose not to register? Do they not realize that half the population does not really enough to have a family, pay their bills and save enough money for retirement? I been an important funding, so I know all about investments and budgeting. And I can tell you that, because the books say you have an investment specific amount of money at times, if you put in some investment is not the reality of life will allow it to happen. People get sick, people laid off, the stock market tanks and people redeem their 401k after reducing by 50%. People get divorced and lose half of their money. Blah blah blah. What is wrong with Social Security? Is it so wrong to take care of our seniors who have brought us here where we are today?
As a youth, you would want it stopped ... it will not be available when you "need" it. There is too much abuse of the system. I knew a guy who has been unable (or unwilling) a job, but I SSI at age 21. He received a lump sum $ 14K and $ 1K/month. Since 21 ?!?!? I put in around $ 35K dollars that I'll never see a penny .. If this money was under my control, I would have a good start to my own pension fund "I do not need Uncle Sam to choose my investments for me.
