Way the heck back in 1928 an instrument, called the Theremin was invented by a young Russian physicist named Lev Sergeivich Termen (known in the West as Léon Theremin)
Believe it or not this beautiful sounding instrument can be played WITHOUT TOUCH OF ANY KIND.
In this video a talented Virtuoso named Pamelia Kurstin plays and discusses her theremin, the not-just-for-sci-fi electronic instrument that is played without being touched.
